I found a great website on the Rootsweb PAALLEGH genealogy group this morning. These folks have been putting the names from their local town war memorials online to share. I am sure, not only for our research purposes but to honor the men who served.

I found, I believe, a relative of Lei’s, Israel Pancoast and maybe Joel C. Pancoast as well, on the Elizabeth boro memorial that Victoria Hospodar Valentine transcribed, thank you Victoria.

Elizabeth-Boro-Memorial

Faithfully dedicated to the men and women from Elizabeth Borough who served
in the armed forces of our country and in cherished memory of those who rest
forever in foreign lands. May their courageous deeds for humanity be forever
remembered in the hearts of all men.

More lasting than words more glorious than praise is our gratitude for their
great unselfishness.
