  Family Search # K24M-WL1 Wheeler's Article - he is family #5 FAMILY 5 John (2) Badgley, son of Anthony (1) and Elizabeth Badgley, was born at Flushing, Long Island, about 170-. He was married about 172- to Euphemia—, and settled at Turkey, between the First and Second mountains. In 1748 and 1749 he was one of the managers of a lottery at Turkey to raise money for building a parsonage. In 1747 some Badgely, probably John, although possibly his brother James, was lieutenant of Captain Nathaniel Davis’s militia company at Turkey. John Badgley made his will September 7, 1759, and died very shortly. It mentions wife Euphemia, ten children, son-in-law Abram Clark the third, and grand children Moses, John and Jane Badgley, perhaps children of a deceased son. The three oldest dauaghters were married by 1759, one of them to Abraham Clark, but which one does not appear. Children of John (2) and Euphemia Badgley: 1. Anthony (3), born about 172- (see family 13); 2. William, no trace yet found; 3. John (3), born about 174-, married Sarah Clark (see family 14); 4. Sarah; 5. Mary; 6.Phebe; 7. Elizabeth; 8. Catherine; 9. Hannah 10. Euphemia, born about 174-, married Daniel Thompson (son of Timothy) and moved to Ohio.
