Alfred Pringle, b. at Richmond, U.C., 1 Sept 1824; a farmer and brick-maker; married at Madoc, C.W., 26 Dec. 1848, by Rev. Stephen Miles, Wesleyan Methodist, to Sarah Ann Fretts, dau. of Caspar and Magdalene (Huffman) Fretts, of Thurlow, C.W., and (prior to 1831) of North Fredericksburgh, U.C., where she was born 16 July 1827. They dwelt at Richmond till Ap. 1869; at Belleville, Ont., till Ap. 1870; and then settled at Napanee, Ont., where they were living in Ap. 1876.
