As this record was not intended for a full Genealogy of the Beecher Family, we trace no farther the descendants of the first four sons of Isaac born, 1623, our principal interest being centered in the fifth son, Eleazur, the ancestor of the West Haven Beechers, whose descendants we have traced down to the present time, as well as our limited means of obtaining information would permit.

Eleazur Beecher 2, bought and exchanged with Benjamin Bunnell, July 2, 1684, ten acres of land in that part of West Haven, called West Side Farms, on west side of Main street, near corner of Union street. Bounded on the east by William Prindle, on the west by Peter Mallory, Jr., and north by Elm street, and south by Main street, in quantity ten acres, more or less.
New Haven Land Records, vol. 1, p. 248.
Here he built the house in which he lived and died. Six children, subsequent to this date were born here. He afterwards sold six acres of the rear, lying on Elm street. The house was a familiar land-mark, and well remembered by its ancient appearance, being of olden style, and having a large stone chimney in the center. The house was removed in 1896,, the place having been purchased for the site of the present Catholic Church parsonage.
