• Notes

  The obituary spells her name with a "C" which differs with other documents. I have assumed that her husband placed the obit and would know the spelling of her name. On Catharina's obit she attended St. Mark's German Evangelical Protestant Church, located on Ninth Ave between Ann and Amity. The pastor in 1902 may have been Rev Carl Martin or Rev M. Orend. St. Mark's merged with St. John's in 1981. The records of both churches are at the University of Pittsburgh library. The Church is now called St. John Mark Evangelical Church and the records are stored under that name. Collection number AIS.1989.17
