  	Margaret L. Brown GENEVA — Former Ashtabula resident Margaret L. Brown, 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1992, In Esther Marie Nursing Home. , Born Nov. 15, 1904, in Ashtabula. she was a daughter of Harry and Calista (Spears) Borden and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Brown was employed as financial secretary at First Christian Church for many years. She was a member of Queensville Rebecca Lodge and former member of Rebecca Lodge 329, past representative to Rebeccas Assembly, received the Decoration of Chivalry in 1943 and was a member of Patriarch's Militant, holding all offices. She was a member, trustee and deaconess of First Christian Church and a member and service chairman of the church's Christian Women's Fellowship. She volunteered as a Gray Lady at the hospital and county nursing home for 17 years; was past president and state secretary to the United Transportation Auxiliary; a volunteer at Smith Home for Ladies; and started the first local American Association for Retired Persons club. Survivors include a son, Borden A. of Columbus; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; her parents; and a brother, Jessie. Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Jack W. Ross Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Stephen Long of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of First Christian Church.
